Call4Energy | The mobility evolution

The vehicle fuel sector is constantly evolving and characterised by significant economic, regulatory and environmental impacts. Following the Recovery Fund and the “National Recovery and Resilience Plan”, the focus in Italy has been drawn on the urgency of an ecological transition related to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals ratified by the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

The European Parliament approved a plan of reforms related to the 'Fit-for-55' climate package, which envisages stopping the sale of petrol-powered cars from 2035 to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 55% and achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

To be an active part of this change, Call4Energy | The mobility evolution was born, a circular open innovation project realized by the Circular Economy Lab - an initiative of Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center and Cariplo Factory - for Aquila Energie.

Call4Energy | The mobility evolution aims to identify enabling technologies and solutions, on the one hand, to enable the supply of renewable energy and digitalise the internal systems of the petrol stations, on the other, to manage and regenerate resources in stations and ensure their energy independence.

AQUILA ENERGIE

Aquila Energie, founded in the early 1950s by Bruno Cecchi and still run by family members, is a provider of a network of petrol stations operating mainly in Tuscany and Umbria, territories with which it maintains strong ties. The company has expanded its offer by adding the alternative sale of environmentally friendly fuels (LPG and CNG), in addition to the traditional fuels (gasoline and diesel), with the aim of guaranteeing its customers quality products and services while respecting the social and environmental sphere.

Aquila Energie, leader company in corporate sustainability 2022, follows a business model capable of generating value at all levels of the supply chain and it is committed to investing in projects related to sustainability and customer focus. .

Scouting

The initiative is aimed at startups and innovative SMEs able to offer functional solutions to Aquila Energie's transformational needs.

In particular, the research is focused on five main areas of interest.

Areas of interest

Solutions for the provision of alternative and renewable energy sources to support sustainable mobility (E.g.: Charging delivery, Wireless charging, Fast-charging, Battery swapping stations, Share charging).

Solutions for the digitisation of internal management and customer interaction systems with a view to customer centricity. (E.g.: Customer predictive analytics, Energy consumption analytics, Autonomous charging, Energy market forecast analysis).

Solutions for the circular management of resources on the site such as treatment and purification technologies for water reuse.

Solutions for the station's energy independence through the introduction of photovoltaic panels and micro-wind power plants.

Solutions for the regeneration of natural capital in the station ecosystem (regenerative agroforestry).
