Call4Innovation for Deep Tech & New Materials: Phononic Vibes, Ora Graphene and Neuronova named winners at Demo Day
The Call4Innovation for Deep Tech & New Materials, the open innovation programme promoted by Ideofarm, the Powersoft Group’s Innovation Garage concluded with Demo Day . The initiative was delivered by Circular Economy Lab.
The programme involved around 50 startups and scaleups, invited to propose innovative technologies in three strategic areas: electroacoustics, metamaterials and wireless power transfer. From these applications, 10 finalist projects were selected to take part in Demo Day, hosted at K-array’s headquarters in San Piero a Sieve, in the province of Florence.
Phononic Vibes, Ora Graphene and Neuronova were among the companies recognised.
- Phononic Vibes, an Italian innovative SME founded as a spin-off of the Politecnico di Milano, develops noise and vibration reduction solutions using metamaterials with distinctive internal geometries.
- Ora Graphene, a Canadian technology company based in Montréal, develops graphene-based diaphragms for loudspeakers and headphones, with the aim of improving sound reproduction and reducing energy consumption.
- Neuronova, an Italian deep tech startup, develops energy-efficient chips and processors for artificial intelligence, designed to emulate the workings of the human brain.
The selection of the three companies now paves the way for potential industrial collaborations.
Demo Day thus concludes a programme designed to connect deep tech startups with industry, fostering experimentation, validation and collaboration, and helping to bridge the gap between advanced research and industrial application. Throughout the programme, the Circular Economy Lab contributed through scouting, connections with the innovation ecosystem and support in highlighting the value of the applications
